Look out for the upcoming Texas edition of the LBM Dispatch, an “irregularly published newspaper” by photographer Alec Soth and writer Brad Zellar. Partnering with the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas, Austin, Soth and Zellar are going on the road for two weeks to explore the “Texas triangle” between San Antonio, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Galveston to document the state’s faces and voices. The installment will be shown in a one-night-only pop-up show on December 6 at the Ransom Center.
The LBM Dispatch began with Soth and Zellar, both based in Minnestoa, posed as small-town newspaper reporters to search for human-interest stories in the Twin Cities. They since took to the road and have produced five issues so far, focusing on Ohio, New York, Michigan, California, and Colorado. The LBM Dispatch is produced by Little Brown Mushroom (LBM), Soth’s independent publishing company. Happy reading.
