Rudolf Kicken, 1947-2014

Rudolf Kicken, the well-known photography dealer and founder of the eponymous Berlin gallery, died last week at the age of 67.  In 1974, Rudolf Kicken and Wilhelm Schurmann opened the Galerie Lichttropfen in Aachen, German, and in 1979, the gallery moved to Cologne and became Gallery Kicken. The gallery, specializing in 20th-century avant-garde Czech and German photography and such masters as Man Ray, Moholy-Nagy and Rodchenko, has been run by Kicken and his wife, Annette, since 2000.
