Work by the 11 photographers shortlisted for the Prix Pictet this year will go on view at the Victoria & Albert Museum May 22. The theme was Consumption, and the finalists are photographers Adam Bartos, Motoyuki Daifu, Rineke Dijkstra, Hong Hao, Mishka Henner, Juan Fernando Herran, Boris Mikhailov, Abraham Oghobase, Michael Schmidt, Allan Sekula, and Laurie Simmons. The winner will be announced on May 21.
On May 22, a panel discussion on the theme of consumption will include Sir David King, UK Foreign Secretary’s Special Representative for Climate Change; Bergit Arends, former curator of contemporary art at the Natural History Museum; and artists Hong Hao and Mishka Henner. The panel will be led by Martin Barnes, curator of photography at the V&A.
