The International Center of Photography has announced that it is closing its midtown museum location when its lease from the Durst Organization comes to an end in January 2015 and is looking for a new space. Founded in 1974, the ICP has been in its current midtown location since the 1980s. The ICP School, which is across the street from the museum, at 1114 Avenue of the Americas, will remain in its location. According to a statement issued by the museum: “The International Center of Photography has chosen to move from our current museum site in January 2015 in order to develop a space that reflects our vision and the explosive growth of visual communications.”
