CPW Names New Executive Director

Hannah Frieser

Hannah Frieser

Hannah Frieser has been named the new executive director of the Center for Photography at Woodstock, filling the post that Ariel Shanberg occupied for 12 years. The former executive director of Light Work in Syracuse, Frieser was also on the board of the Society for Photographic Education (SPE), where she co-chaired the 2010 conference, “Facing Diversity,” with En Foco director Miriam Romais, and chaired the 2011 regional northeast and mid-Atlantic conference, “Photographers + Publishing.” She has served as a reviewer and speaker at many photography festivals, including FotoFest and Photolucida, and she is currently developing an online initiative, with Charles Guice, to promote dialogue about contemporary photography from global perspectives.
